Liudao wood is very rare. Luidao is well known for those practicing the Six Perfections. It helps east worry and stress.

In Tantric Buddhism mala's have 108 beads used to count mantras one mala counts as 100 and the eight extra are to be dedicated to all sentient beings the practice as a whole is dedicated at its end as well. Some practices suggest that you use a certain kind of mala for counting the chants that are part of that specific practice. Many people like to wear a mala on their wrist, which should always be on the left hand.
